Genelia yesterday night attended the Pearl Waves All Women’s Show at MMRDA Grounds in Mumbai. The show had several celebrities from Bollywood perform and raise their voices against violence on women.
The event is an initiative of the Flying Unicorn Entertainment, and is supported by Pearls Wave, which is an NGO by Pearls Broadcasting Corporation that works for the rights of women. The main objective of the show is to raise a voice that is unanimous for all women throughout the country.
Aliya Rashid, Co-partner, Flying Unicorn Entertainment, said,”We will also felicitate 10 women from different fields for their achievements. We have also selected some brave women to step out and share their experiences with the audiences and encourage people to put an end to domestic violence. This show is a part of our three-phase campaign to create awareness about violence against women. We have lined up a series of on-ground activities which would include talks in colleges, contests, roadshows and marches, to generate buzz about the initiative and get people’s support.”
A video would be soon aired on TV with messages from celebrities like Genelia Dsouza, Vidya Balan, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar, Priyanka Chopra, Minissha Lamba, Shahid Kapoor and Abhay Deol, pledging their support for Pearls Wave.
And the Wave Show will be telecasted on Sony Channel on 28 February, 2010. Don’t miss it.
Genelia also won the Rising Star of the Year Award at the concert. Kudos to her. May she keep winning our hearts and more awards and keep smiling.
